CHATYPE

Chatype was a type design collaboration between me and Jeremy Dooley of  Insigne Design

The font was designed for the people of Chattanooga and was adopted as Chattanooga's offical typeface in 2013. This makes Chattanooga the first city in the USA to have its own typeface. Featured here is the stencil version of Chatype.  D+J partnered with us to create the Kickstarter and marketing campaign for Chatype

This is the stencil version of Chatype with a closeup of a section of the Walker Bridge

Here are some of my type design ideas that lead up to the final merging of Chatype

Poster design incorporating Chatype.

AIGA Chattanooga, TN

Using Chatype with the distinctive "cha" ligature (inspired by the Cherokee syllabary) as a feature, we created an unmistakable "Chattanooga" logo for AIGA Chattanooga
